Job Search Training

Did you know: The average time a hiring manager spends reviewing a resume is just 7.4 seconds (Ladders Inc.).

In today’s competitive job market, applicants must navigate complex job search engines, develop effective cover letters and resumes to break through AI filtering, and strategically address gaps in their work history. This can be overwhelming, especially for individuals re-entering the workforce after a leave of absence.

Our Job Search Training Program is designed to assist clients in becoming independent in their job search by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in finding employment at the end of their claim.

Offered over the course of 4, 6, 8, or 10 weeks (or a customized length), clients will work directly with one of our skilled job search facilitators to develop essential job search skills, including:

  • Identifying transferable skills and aligning them with new career pathways

  • Creating tailored, professional resumes and job-specific cover letters that break through AI filtering

  • Preparing for interviews through best-practice strategies and mock sessions that teach them how to professionally address gaps in their resume.

  • Navigating job boards, employer websites, and job search engines effectively

  • Discovering targeted, strategic approaches to job searching

  • Receiving ongoing support and coaching throughout the active job search process

Our Job Search Training process:

  1. Choose program length - Select a 4, 6, 8, or 10+ week program. Programs of 6+ weeks are recommended to support sustained employment outcomes.

  2. Barrier Identification & Planning -After reviewing the client’s transferable skills, the facilitator identifies return-to-work barriers and develops a customized plan using a combination of required and optional course content.

  3. Course Begins -The client works one-on-one with a facilitator who introduces them to relevant skills and content to achieve job search independence.

  4. Course Completion - Upon completion, the client receives copies of customized resumes and cover letters, as well as additional resources and guides.

This three‑week Digital Literacy Training program teaches essential computer and technology skills for everyday life and modern workplaces. Designed for beginners, the course blends self‑paced learning with Microsoft Teams sessions, hands‑on assignments, and guided assessments.

Learners develop core skills in computer use, internet navigation, email, Microsoft Word and Excel, Apple device basics, cybersecurity, and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems. Weekly modules, instructor‑led recaps, and mini‑quizzes support steady progress.

Delivered in small groups of up to four, the program also offers optional 1:1 support for participants who need individualized guidance. By completion, students will confidently operate a computer, communicate professionally online, and use common digital tools with independence.

Introductory and Intermediate Computer Training

In addition to basic computer digital literacy training, we have a number of computer training options to support the unique needs of the learner including:

  • Introductory courses to build essential computer skills for beginners such as learning to confidently use Windows, email, the internet, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), along with basic file management, keyboarding, and mousing skills to support everyday work, learning, and job search tasks.

  • Intermediate courses to build on foundational computer skills, expanding participants’ proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Office. Learners develop stronger document, spreadsheet, and presentation skills using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, while improving efficiency with email, calendars, file management, and workplace‑ready digital tools.

Build stronger recovery paths for your mental health claims.

Our RISE Education Program focuses on building personal resilience to overcome mental health challenges and thrive in the workplace through a series of education sessions. Some topics included in this course include stress management, building healthy habits, managing responsibilities, self-regulating and monitoring emotions, return-to-work planning, and combating negative self-talk - making the program an essential stepping-stone for individuals returning to work following a mental health leave.

“I was struggling to gain the confidence that I was worthy to re-enter the workforce. Even with the set back of my brain injury and not being confident in my skills, I was introduced to ideas and strategies to re-gain that confidence.

The support, guidance and patience this team demonstrated made this so successful. I am forever thankful.”

“As you can imagine, this was a very daunting proposition to enter into retraining at my age and after a long and successful career.

Kathryn was extremely patient, understanding and easy to talk with. She made each step easy for me to manage. During each conversation, I felt increased confidence, knowing that I would be able to use the new information to my advantage when we were done.”
